CEO and CO-FOUNDER

Steve Muntean

Steve Muntean has built a career as a business leader, founder, and investor at the intersection of emerging technologies, data analytics, and security. Over the course of his career, he has led and invested in more than a dozen organizations, including high-growth ventures, middle-market firms, and a NASDAQ-listed company, consistently turning strategic vision into operational success. He also brings more than a decade of government service.

At Openi, Steve leads the company's mission to transform raw information into strategic intelligence through advanced analytics, AI-driven insights, and human expertise. Beyond Openi, he is an active equity investor and board member in over a dozen enterprises.

​

He also chairs the National War College Alumni Association National Security Fellowship Program and serves on the boards of several nonprofits and professional organizations, including National War College AA, ForAfrika, FoPHA Bahamas, and the Young Presidents' Organization (YPO). Steve holds a bachelor's degree from Eastern Illinois University, master's degree from American Military University and the University of Pennsylvania, and completed a National Security Fellowship.

RICK BRUNO

Rick Bruno is the Chief Operating Officer of Openi Analytics. After graduating from Florida State University, Rick served for a decade in the U.S. Navy SEAL Teams, holding both active duty and reserve roles with deployments to the Mediterranean and the Middle East.

Following his military service, he earned his MBA and built a 20+ year career as a strategy and business development executive spanning healthcare, defense, life sciences, and technology. Rick has held senior leadership positions in both Fortune 500 companies and high-growth ventures, where he has consistently leveraged his expertise in leadership, strategy, and innovation to drive results.

​

As COO at Openi, Rick leads the company's overall strategy and day-to-day operations, guiding its mission to deliver cutting-edge intelligence solutions.

MICHAEL CARRAWAY

Michael Carraway is the Chief Data Officer at Openi Analytics, where he leads the integration of advanced analytics and open-source intelligence (OSINT) to help clients anticipate threats and reduce digital risk. With over 20 years of experience in U.S. military intelligence, including deployments with Special Operations Forces and service at Special Operations Command (SOCOM), he has built a career around transforming complex data into actionable insight.

Michael has trained and led intelligence professionals across the DoD, interagency, and private sector, specializing in link analysis, geospatial tools, social media investigations, and digital vulnerability assessments. 

​

He holds an MBA in Cybersecurity Management from Saint Leo University and a B.A. in Criminology from the University of South Florida.

CHIEF REVENUE OFFICER

PATRICK POWERS

Patrick Powers is a seasoned global security expert who serves as the Chief Revenue Officer at Openi Analytics. He brings 30 years of leadership, creativity, work ethic, and competitiveness to our team. He is an expert on worldwide security issues, crisis management, and information technology sales.

Patrick was commissioned as a US Army second lieutenant upon graduating from Ohio University. He spent 26 years conducting intelligence and Special Operations around the world as a "Green Beret" colonel. He served tours in Korea, Germany, Bosnia, and had four combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. After retiring from the military, he joined Hewlett Packard Enterprise, where he successfully managed account teams for HPE Public Sector.

As an entrepreneur, Patrick designed and founded a non-profit foundation called Gold Star Sailing in 2014. This program is uniquely designed for the teenage children of our fallen service members with a focus on leadership, teamwork, and adventure through sailing. He discovered that great healing happens during Gold Star Sailing camps.

​

A skilled strategist, he frames complex problems and synthesizes effective solutions, pairing his business and government leadership experience with domain expertise in defense, special operations, intelligence, security, IT, and non-profits. Patrick thrives in ambiguity, designing clear forward strategies from minimal direction to open revenue pathways, developing strategic partnerships, penetrating new markets, and orchestrating branding and thought leadership to generate growth and business model evolution.

Patrick was introduced to sailing as a child and was hooked. He has raced sail boats since 2001. Patrick and his wife Andrea live in Annapolis, Maryland. They have two children who are also avid sailors. He has competed with his son and daughter in many prestigious ocean and Great Lakes open ocean races. 

​

With a desire to connect people, make a positive impact, and get resources to the point of need, Patrick serves on the National Defense Industrial Association - Special Operations Board and is an Ambassador for the Special Operations Warror Foundation.
